Continence is not a glamorous subject.

Continence is a vitally important subject.

Lifestyle & Mobility are confident in both those statements.

Continence Care

World Continence Week 2025 - Urology Foundation Awareness PosterOver the course of our business history, Lifestyle & Mobility have provided a wide range of continence care products in order to meet the vital continence requirements of our customers. So, the importance of World Continence Week is absolutely not lost on us.

In the UK, one organisation in particular is associated with this initiative. The Urology Foundation, a British charity dedicated to fighting urology diseases including bladder cancer and age-related incontinence, to name but two.

When it comes to questions of continence, the Urology Foundation is keen that, on World Continence Week, certain key statistics are bought to the fore. Not least that, according to the NHS, 14 million people in Britain are living with bladder problems alone.

The Global Picture for Incontinence

World Continence Week International IconAs you might expect, the global continence picture is problematic also. On a world scale, stigma and taboos around this uncomfortable subject are even more pronounced than in countries such as the UK. The WFIPP, whose logo is shown at right, was keen to focus on lifting stigma and taboos around bladder and fecal incontinence in 2025.

The message is clear, as put in the words of the WFIPP themselves:

bladder weakness alone (notwithstanding faecal incontinence) affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 10 men and is more common than hay fever. So the message is simple: let’s get out there and ‘do something’ for the 400+ million to ensure the success of WCW25.
