Electric bikes are, in reality, power-assisted devices, where an additional boost from batteries can be used to help navigate more challenging terrain. This applies especially to areas where gradients are steeper. As with non power-assisted bicycles, there are significant variations within this product type.
Perhaps you’re wanting a product for urban commute use, for mountain rides, or for woodland treks. Whatever the requirement, Lifestyle & Mobility are confident that we can find the best hybrid-powered bike for you. You can check out some of the jewels in the crown of our collection at the flagship Basildon store. Or, for that matter, any of our other stores can assist you when it comes to learning more about electric bikes.
More About Electric Bicycle Types
To the left, you can see the Oxygen S-Cross MTB, designed for use on mountain-biking excursions. It’s a bit of a change of pace, if you’ll excuse the pun, from all but the most rugged of the mobility scooters and powerchairs that we currently stock at Lifestyle & Mobility.
That being said, power-assisted bikes are designed to accommodate a wide range of user capabilities – about which more later.
In many ways, battery power-assisted bicycles are quite distinct from most other products that Lifestyle & Mobility offer. But, in some crucial ways, they bear similarities.
For instance, as with scooters, wheelchairs and powered wheelchairs, lightweight and foldable options will never be out of fashion. The S-Cross MTB is, itself, designed with keeping weight down in mind. When using the smallest available battery size, the total weight of this product is an extremely impressive 23.3kg.
Different Bicycles for Different Needs
The more easily-transportable models of electric bike that Lifestyle & Mobility sell are epitomised by the Oxygen Go! It weighs under 20kg all in with the slimline lithium battery included. As with all good electric bike models, the Oxygen Go! draws on easy-to-use and smart technology to simply switch between levels of power-assistance, or to turn off the power-assistance all together. Being a folding bicycle, the Go! can, for instance, easily be carried onto public transport during a commute.
Rounding out the main functionalities within the electric bike family are the likes of the Oxygen S-Cross ST, a hybrid model within the hybrid product genre that electric bikes already represent. This vehicle, shown below, can be used either as a commuter or a trail bike, and is a prime example of just how versatile electric bikes can be!
