In-Store Vs Online Prices
Why do some products have 2 different prices displayed, for in-store vs online purchases?
This is because it reflects certain benefits you will receive buying in store vs online. Those include having having expert advice at hand in our stores to ensure you purchase the right product for your needs. Our experts can assess your requirements, demonstrate products, and also you can try-before-you-buy. It also means we can set the product up for you and you can take the item home the same day. The aftercare received from your local store will also allow you to be worry-free. To this end, the warranty cover on in-store purchases is substantially more extensive than with online purchases.
In order for us to provide our customers with all the desirable features from our industry-leading stores we have additional costs that allow us to provide the service required. This is reflected in the difference of prices online vs in store. Most online products are also drop-shipped directly from the manufacturers as kerb side delivery so this will have to be unboxed and set up by the purchaser. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Why do some products have more than 2 different prices displayed, for in-store vs online purchases?
This is the case with variably-priced products. Prescriptive items in particular, e.g. powerchairs, have a base price which can vary greatly from the price with cost add-ons. For all variable products, the in-store price shown is the in-store price for the base model, i.e. the lowest-cost version of the product. Different configurations of a variable product can affect in-store prices, just as they do online. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions about this

VAT Exemption: Who’s Eligible
It is important to remember that, if you have a long-term illness or a disability, you don’t have to pay VAT on certain goods and services that you buy in the UK.
Broadly speaking, the goods covered by this scheme are those which are of practical help to you in light of your illness or disability. Throughout our site, those products to which VAT exemption applies are all clearly labelled.
How Disability and Long-Term Illness are Defined for VAT Purposes
If you meet any of the below conditions, you are considered disabled and/or long-term sick for VAT exemption purposes.
You have a physical or mental impairment with a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon your ability to carry out everyday activities.
You have a terminal illness.
You have a condition that the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness e.g. diabetes.
Note therefore that there are various situations in which you would not qualify. For example, if you are elderly but able-bodied, or if you’re only temporarily incapacitated, you would not be eligible for VAT relief on grounds of disability and long-term illness.
For this VAT exemption to apply, it isn’t necessary for you to either physically buy the goods in person, or even to pay for them yourself. To give various examples, if your parent, guardian, or spouse buys the goods and services for you, then you will not be charged VAT.
However, purchases of goods and services to which this VAT exemption applies are subject to one very important condition. They must be bought for personal or domestic use. This means that the goods or services are to be supplied for your own private use, rather than for business purposes.
