Looking for a travel companion on your next shopping trip? LuXe Mobility have recently released three lightweight powerchair options to fit a range of budgets and needs. You very well might find just what you’re looking for. As is typical with this manufacturer, distinctive design and specification choices come as standard. LuXe Mobility powerchairs bring something subtly, yet undeniably, distinctive, to the market.
New Heights of Innovation
In the case of these three models, it’s with control mechanisms and weight that the difference is most marked. We’ll start with the entry-level Xenith powerchair, as seen to the left. As you can see in the photo, this chair is capable of navigating flat outdoor areas with compact surfaces, up to and including short grass. So, if you’re out on a drive and fancy a quick break in the fresh air at a passing beauty spot, you have that option.
Probably the most distinctive aspect of the Xenith is how LuXe Mobility have approached attendant control. Whereas most powerchairs – particularly lightweight folding products (the Xenith is well below 17kg with the battery removed) – have attendant control as an option which needs to be attached to the chair itself, the Xenith is remote controlled.
This control choice can allow users to have more of a sense of independence, since a carer does not to be actively handling the chair in order for it to move. It may also help the attendant themselves. For one thing, they can, if their own mobility is limited, move the chair from a more comfortable position. In the case of the Xenith photo shown in this piece, that might be a park bench.
Within this new trio of LuXe Mobility powerchairs, remote control is also found in the Xenith’s higher-end sibling, the Xalt. In case you are wondering what the difference between these two models is, range plays a part. Whilst the Xenith can manage up to a maximum of 4 miles per charge, the Xalt (shown below left) can comfortably exceed 5 miles per charge, and even get close to 6. That makes it a better option for days out at the shopping centre, for example.
Keeping Weight Low, and Quality High
The Xonic (shown below, right) is LuXe Mobility’s top-of-the-line lightweight folding powerchair. The focus of this powerchair is lightness. In fact, with the battery removed, it is only 12.5kg all in! Amazingly reduced weight is coupled with a novel approach to folding for storage. The Xonic folds across, rather than down, meaning that it can fit into narrow spaces when not being used. On the basis of that reduced weight alone, the Xonic is well worth your consideration.
