A Lightweight Manual Add-On

Whether you have a rigid frame or a folding wheelchair, the FreeWheel is your ticket to freedom, independence and increased mobility.

With the FreeWheel your wheelchair casters are lifted off the ground, turning your chair into a 3-wheeler. So you will simply roll over any obstacle such as; curbs, dirt trails, grass, gravel, snow, and sand.

The FreeWheel allows you to easily and safely traverse any rough terrain. The FreeWheel’s longer wheelbase makes it easier to push yourself or be pushed.

With the front casters lifted there is less risk of falling if the casters catch on bumps in the pavement, stones or gravel in the road, or crossing a grassy field.

Wheelchairs users find themselves spending a lot of time looking at the ground  to make sure they don’t hit anything that will cause them to fall out of the chair. With the FreeWheel, wheelchair users can comfortably look at the world around them and converse with friends and family more easily.

As the Freewheel gives more independence to the user, it helps with getting more active.

Will It Fit My Wheelchair?

See image for footrest types. NOT COMPATIBLE with footplates that overhang the front bar.
TILITE CHAIRS with angle adjustable footrests. You will need to order Part P102 fitting kit so your Freewheel attaches correctly. See Images
Minimum footplate depth 4″ (102mm) – Maximum footplate depth 6 3/8″ (162mm)
Footplates with height over 4 7/8″ (123mm) need a custom frame – contact us for details
Footplates with angles of more than 12 degrees need a custom frame – contact us for details

Please check with your wheelchair manufacturer prior to purchasing to make sure your footrest is strong enough
Maximum user weight – 280lbs (127 kg)

Requires some assembly/initial setup (tools supplied)
